the sexy monster genre may not be my thing, but I do have a certain respect for what Guillermo Del Toro is doing with the shape of water, because while cowardly media like twilight will remove all signs of monster qualities to make vampires sexy underwear models, Guillermo is just full tilt “this creepy fish man is sexy, this woman wants to fuck the creepy fish man. she wants to lick his gills or some shit and that’s ok. fish fucking is valid” like I’m not into it, but goddamnit if I do not respect the boldness of it. go big or go home
THE REPEAL OF NET NEUTRALITY WILL IMPACT STUDENTS ENROLLED IN ONLINE SCHOOLS WHETHER THAT’S COLLEGE OR HIGHSCHOOL OR ANY OTHER ONLINE SCHOOL! EDUCATION ALREADY COSTS SO MUCH, WHY SHOULD YOU HAVE TO PAY EVEN MORE?
HOW ABOUT ALL THOSE ONLINE COURSES, LESSONS, AND REQUIREMENTS STUDENTS HAVE ONLINE? STUDENTS WILL BE FORCED TO PAY TO PASS
im tagging a bunch of fandoms and different tags. we need to join together to save this hell hole of a website we all love.
REMINDER THAT GETTING RID OF NET NEUTRALITY WILL HURT:
- SMALL BUSINESSES
How will they be able to advertise things when they’re just starting out, and how many people will be able to see it? How many people will be willing to buy things online if they already have to pay for access to the site?
- SCHOOLS
Any school with computers will have to pay money for internet access. Otherwise students won’t be able to work on any projects in class, and they will have to rely on home internet access. Lots of school funding will be used for paying this!
- PEOPLE SEEKING MEDICAL/FINANCIAL AID ONLINE
It is common on this site and on many others to see people asking for aid. Imagine what will happen to these people if they have to pay to go onto this site, and imagine how many people will see their posts. Imagine how many people will still have the money to help them.
- STUDENTS
Any kind of research paper will be a pain to write, regardless of your grade level. I have to turn in almost all of my homework online, and nothing is allowed to be handwritten. This will make college more expensive, too, and that’s already too much for anyone to pay for without student loans.
- ANYONE LOOKING FOR A JOB ONLINE
Nobody wants to pay an extra $50 dollars a month to sign up for job applications. It is also standard to have an email, so if you no longer have access to it, that can cost you a job, even if you aren’t signing up for it online.
- ARTISTS
Many artists already have trouble getting people to buy commissions. A lack of exposure and a lack of money will not help.
- YOUTUBERS
I don’t really go on youtube anymore, but I know for a fact that this will effect the amount of views (and therefore the amount of money) they’ll get for their videos. This will effect youtubers worldwide, and the U.S. is filled with tons of viewers!
- PEOPLE WITH MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES
Lots of people rely on the internet to vent or to escape. Imagine if they were suddenly told that they aren’t able to do that anymore. Imagine what will happen if they’re suddenly cut off from their friends online.
- LIBRARIES
Libraries would have to put even more funding into internet access, and if they can’t pay for it, it will be a serious inconvenience to many, many people. People who go to the library to use the computers often don’t have a computer at home.
Call the FCC and senators. Write an email. Send a letter. DO SOMETHING.
Every time I post Charlie the Choo-Choo somewhere I get a lot of visceral “NO!” reactions so I might as well share him with y’all
Long story short: it’s a completely innocuous children’s book by Stephen King except every illustration looks like this. It’s twenty odd pages of carefully polished uncanny valley. I love Charlie, it’s exactly the kind of shit I’d pull if I had more money than god himself and an insatiable urge to fuck with people.
Yeah, this seems like it’s entirely up Stephen King’s alley.
Generally considered false clowns, town fools were shorter and more likely to act violently than other breeds. They went out of popularity in the 1600’s due to increases in attacks (speculated to be prompted by sub-par living conditions and diets given to clowns at the time). The abrupt stop in breeding led to a decline in population, which eventually left the town fool extinct.
2. Jesters
Jesters were a immensely popular breed of clown in the 1200’s-1400’s, particularly in England. Often considered “toy” breeds (like poodles), they were easy to take care of and good with people. This luxury breed was the favorite of monarchs and the wealthy, leading to smaller and smaller genetic pools over time as owners bred for desired traits. Unfortunately, negligence on the part of breeders caused the breed to be incredibly unhealthy by design, and they died out.
1. Harlequins
Harlequins were a majestic breed from Italy, favored by only the richest members of society. However, they vanished off the face of the Earth around 1400, much to the puzzlement of goofologists everywhere. Records of them stop around that time, with no known current breeds being descended from them at all. Some people still claim to own or even sell harlequins, but be warned! These are merely circus and mime varieties bred together, which you can tell from the shape of the shoe (mime-circus mixes have flat, bulbous shoes, whereas a harlequin would have a long, concave curve to them). The ownership of mime and mime mixes is illegal, so if you see someone claiming to sell harlequins, report them to the proper authorities.
No offense, but all you nice people who have been going on and on about how much you loved Wonder Woman (2017) and how you can’t get enough Amazons had better show up to movie theaters on October 13 to support Professor Marston & the Wonder Women, a beautiful queer love story about Wonder Woman’s creators written and directed by Angela Robinson, a QWOC. You know I can’t help but notice a distinct lack of buzz for this film on this website despite it seemingly being right in Tumblr’s wheelhouse.
this is not meant to be attacking you in any way, but if you aren't in the hp fandom how did you come to be running this blog? like what motivates you to keep posting here if you don't consider yourself a part of the fandom
because i really enjoy the books. i don’t participate in the fandom because i think the majority of fandom culture is toxic, especially in such incredibly fandoms such as this one.
Hi I’m in a nightmare battle with kentucky to even begin the process of applying for assistance. In the meantime, I need food and to pay the rent and internet bill.
I’m an agender mentally ill and chronically ill adult with an 11 year old son and an also mentally ill partner. I am unemployable and my partner has been unable to find work in our rural area. Neither of us drives. Her mum also lives with us and is working but it is not enough to cover costs of living. We are constantly under threat of having utilities cut off and we are tired of asking for help but we have no choice.
Circumstances have prevented me from getting government assistance before now. I am currently in the process of trying to get help but it’s going to be difficult. In the meantime we really could use any help you can give us.
Our paypal is ecosynchronous@gmail.com. We greatly appreciate any help we receive and also the time you’ve taken out if your day to read this.
Thank you and please have a good day.
The internet bill still isn’t paid and now we absolutely have to pay into the electricity and theres no food in the house I can eat with my health issues and my partners phone is about to get shut off
